Hear from BU Master of Music in Music Education Alumni
“This program has given me a deeper and broader understanding of what it means to be involved in music education. I feel inclined to participate in national and state forums that advocate for music education. I’ve learned how to advocate for myself in my own program and be more inclusive within my classroom. While my undergraduate degree focused heavily on skills, techniques, and pedagogy, this program focused more heavily on the ‘bigger picture’. I really appreciated that and feel I’m a better teacher because of it.”
“For an online program, I was impressed by how thorough the communication and support from professors and staff was. I expected to feel ‘on my own’ and disconnected. While the online nature of the course did allow for me to have autonomy over my schedule and allowed it to fit into my adult life, I still felt connected with classmates and teachers. I truly felt challenged and grew in ways that were directly applicable to my current position. I would highly recommend this program to others.”
This program gave my teaching the boost I never knew it needed. Since beginning the program, I have incorporated new and progressive ideas, projects, and lessons into my classroom. My students are more engaged, parent feedback is extremely positive, and my confidence as a teacher has been significantly raised.”
