The BU Master of Arts Degree in Art Education is designed for busy educators who love making and teaching art and who want to enhance their practice, advance their careers, and change their students’ lives through the power of artistic expression. The program is offered online or on-campus. An optional Summer Studios program brings students to Boston for intensive, hands-on, process-oriented instruction in a supportive atmosphere.

The BU MA in Art Education offers three tracks to fit your needs and busy schedule:

  • Arts Leadership: policy, advocacy, personnel issues, funds management.
  • Artist Teacher: develop skills in transferring your passion and love for the creative process through new teaching methodologies and techniques.
  • Self-Designed Program: complete four core courses plus four electives of your choice.
